Architectural Testing worked with the Steel Stud Manufacturers Association to develop the SSMA Code
Compliance Certification Program as a comprehensive, rigorous resource which provides independent
verification of the quality of cold-formed steel framing. Architectural Testing is accredited as an
independent inspection agency to the requirements of ISO 17020, and is also accredited as an independent
testing laboratory in accordance with ISO 17025. Verification of the manufacturer’s certification is
supported with unannounced manufacturing facility audits, and independent random sampling and testing of
certified products for compliance to the program requirements.
Manufacturers, specifiers, and users of cold-formed steel framing benefit from this certification:
Cold-formed steel framing products certified under the SSMA Code Compliance Certification Program are marked with the program’s Certification Label.
Only products that have been verified to meet the Program requirements are authorized to bear this label.
